Something for Every Wine Lover
Temecula Valley’s warm, sunny days and cool nights are as ideal for wine grapes as they are for visitors. Similar to winegrowing regions in Italy, Portugal, Spain and parts of France, the valley’s climate fosters a wide array of grapes. In addition to Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Zinfandel, Sauvignon Blanc and other classic California varietals, Temecula growers produce Sangiovese, Syrah, Tempranillo, Montepulciano, Vermentino and Barbera, just for starters. In fact, more than two dozen varieties of wine grapes grow and thrive in this region.
And unlike many other wine regions, Temecula Valley doesn’t have a “signature” style of wine. You’ll find everything from light, crisp whites and rosés and buttery Chardonnays to elegant, age-worthy reds, classic-method sparkling wines, dessert wines and more. Visitors can tailor their tasting experience to their favorite wines, or go wherever the day takes them, discovering new favorites along the way.
It’s impossible to go wrong with world-class wines at every turn. Temecula Valley wines regularly receive 90+ scores, Double Gold, Gold and Best in Class awards. South Coast Winery, the region’s largest producer, has been named California’s Winery of the Year in the California State Fair Wine Competition five times—more than any other winery in the competition’s history. And that’s just one of nearly 50 wineries to visit here in Southern California’s wine country.
