Temecula Valley Southern California Wine Country Goes Virtual for Annual CRUSH Event
TEMECULA, CA, September 4, 2020 – 2020 marks the 10th anniversary of Temecula Valley Southern California Wine Country’s flagship event – The CRUSH Wine and Culinary Showcase. This celebration of harvest and California Wine Month invites consumers to experience all Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association (TVWA) winery members under one roof – or starlit sky – while nibbling on gourmet bites from dozens of local Temecula Valley restaurants. This year, the reimagined, ongoing event – now called “CRUSH From Home” – is going virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Throughout the month of September, the TVWA will host a series of events featuring Temecula Valley winemaking and culinary teams, who will lead consumers through gourmet cooking demonstrations and guided tastings of hand-selected wines that can be picked up or delivered to sip along with presenters and fellow participants from the comfort and safety of home.
“The situation surrounding COVID-19 has created unique challenges for us in wine country, but it has also opened our minds to so many new and interesting opportunities to reach wine lovers in different ways,” said TVWA Executive Director Krista Chaich. “This region has always faced obstacles with perseverance, creativity, and a collaborative spirit. Introducing our CRUSH From Home event is a perfect example of this.”
Tickets to these virtual events range from $110 to $145 depending on whether the wine is picked up or shipped to the participant. Each ticket includes four bottles of wine and access to the Zoom-based event. Participants register through the TVWA website and purchase their tasting package directly from the winery. Each ticket is good for up to 10 members of the same “household,” for those wanting to share the experience with friends, colleagues or family in the same location. A schedule of events and online registration can be accessed HERE.
“We couldn’t let the 10th Anniversary of CRUSH go by without some food and wine fanfare,” said Chaich. “If these virtual events are a success, we will likely continue them into the winter months so visitors can continue to experience our region from a distance if they choose to.”
Wineries throughout Temecula Valley are celebrating California Wine Month in a variety of different ways, both on- and offline. For more information, please visit www.temeculawines.org.
