Temecula Wine Valley’s Somerset Vineyard & Winery is continuing a 35-year tradition of delivering exceptional hand-crafted wines, producing sustainably-farmed varieties from Southern France as well as select regions in Spain.
The 13-acre vineyard specializes in wines made from the Rhône varieties such as Viognier, Roussanne, Grenache and Syrah as well as the Spanish Macabeo, Monastrell and Tempranillo.
Award-winning winemaker David Raffaelle established the Rhône and Spanish winemaking programs at the vineyards (formerly Keyways) in 2009, and the vineyard is now at the height of its maturity and producing outstanding quality grapes and wine. Owner Kurt Tiedt and Raffaelle have also built an impressive Amphorae wine-making program, using Italian-imported terracotta vessels to practice this 8,000 year old winemaking method. Tours of the production room are very popular, as are the regular Amphorae+Food Pairing Tasting Events.
Somerset Vineyard & Winery sits at the mouth of the famed De Portola Trail, and features an elegant Tasting Room, garden-like grounds, The Stables event area, and an iconic Estate House surrounded by acres of mature grape vines.
